Discount formulas
For a percentage discount:
Amount saved = Original price × (Discount% ÷ 100)
Sale price = Original price − Amount saved
Sale price = Original price − Amount saved
For a fixed-dollar discount, the savings equal the fixed amount and the sale price is the original minus that amount.
Example: A $80 item with 25% off saves $20 and costs $60.
